How did we get started? The Pandemic caused a lot of people to change how they live, and we were no different. Not being able to go to our favorite restaurants had a major impact on our lifestyle. Due to the time it takes to make Pho the right way, one of our favorite places to eat was our local Pho restaurant. However, once the pandemic was in full effect, this was no longer an option. So what did we do then? The entire family got involved in brainstorming on how we can make AUTHENTIC Pho in a short amount of time to make it convenient for our busy lifestyle. Don Ruben's, a family owned and operated business, has been a staple of the West Valley for generations. Raymond and Teresa Bonillas opened the first Don Ruben's in 1972 and quickly stole the hearts of native and non-native Phoenicians alike. Flash to the summer of 2001, when Steve and Lené Bonillas re-opened Don Ruben's on 43rd Avenue & Cactus. It is always great to meet new customers, but it always makes The Don Ruben's Family smile a little bigger when customers of the original Don Ruben's come in and are pleased to experience their longtime favorite Mexican food.
