In 1958 the first Village Inn Pancake House opened its doors in Denver, Colorado and began offering what has since made us famous— made-from-scratch buttermilk pancakes, fresh eggs cooked any style, sizzling bacon and a pot of steaming hot coffee.
More than once, vacationers in Denver stopped at Village Inn for a bite to eat and enjoyed it so much that they inquired about franchise opportunities before leaving. Such requests inspired co-founders Merton “Andy” Anderson and Jim Mola to place an ad in The Wall Street Journal for prospective franchisees. Soon after, the first Village Inn franchise started operating in 1961, leading the way for successful franchise development.
Our reputation for serving quality all-day breakfast endures and carries over to our lunch, dinner and our award-winning pies. Straight from Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Fat Tuesday is the perfect place to go for fun in Glendale. At Westgate, we are convenient to offices, Coyote stadium and the outlet mall.
We have been serving great drinks, great food and great fun in a colorful, upbeat atmosphere. Our specialties are our Fat Tuesday Frozen Daiquiris and authentic New Orleans style food. What began as a neighborhood convenience store within the Garfield Historic Neighborhood quickly found itself selling more burritos and tacos from its limited "to go" only kitchen, than grocery goods. To that end, Rito and Rosemary Salinas decided to pivot Rito's concept into a take-out-only Mexican Food establishment that has served the "Valley Of The Sun" time-honored family recipes spanning generations. Rosemary and Rito have since passed the company on to their daughter Charlotte who embodies the same work ethic her parents instilled within her over the course of their careers. Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati's is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940's working in Chicago's first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati's Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago's best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday. But that was Lou's style; he loved all types of people and didn't care much about what people thought.
