In 1958 the first Village Inn Pancake House opened its doors in Denver, Colorado and began offering what has since made us famous— made-from-scratch buttermilk pancakes, fresh eggs cooked any style, sizzling bacon and a pot of steaming hot coffee. More than once, vacationers in Denver stopped at Village Inn for a bite to eat and enjoyed it so much that they inquired about franchise opportunities before leaving. Such requests inspired co-founders Merton “Andy” Anderson and Jim Mola to place an ad in The Wall Street Journal for prospective franchisees. Established in 1970. The original owner of Nino's Pizzeria opened up this location roughly 30 years ago. Two additional locations were opened, one of which still exists on 59th Ave and Peoria. The original owner sold the 59th ave and 99th ave locations as separate business. So, although they share the common name of "Nino's Pizza" the restaurants are no longer associated with one another on a business level. The 99th ave and Olive location has only switched hands two times. Once purchased from the original owner by a woman known as Gail who, after 19 yrs of ownership sold the business to it's current owner Chirssy. Chirssy has been owner/operator of Nino's for over 7 years (as of 2013). People come from all over the west valley to visit this famous restaurant. Some tell stories about coming in during their child hood and revisiting recently. Others have been coming in consistently for over 15 years. Our Food Is Fresh… Nothing Has Been Frozen Our initial idea for a richly flavored menu was that our recipes would be made fresh every day. And, that our meats or other food groups would ‘only’ be fresh and never frozen. As we were to find out, this concept is more easily attainable in a traditional sit-down restaurant. Our model, requested by the owner, called for a drive-thru format where a totally fresh menu would be provided for a fast-food restaurant and Phoenicians on the go. The difficulty with serving fresh food in a fast-food delivery style is timing. In a regular restaurant, the food is ordered and the chef or cook puts the meats on the grill or flat top. When it’s done, it is served to the customer. However, in fast food, the traffic speeds have to be anticipated and cooked just ahead of the customer driving through the drive-up lane. Our Brushfire staff, led by Sione Saenz, was able to unlock the secrets of timing and stay committed to providing fresh, never frozen fast food to our customers that really tastes good. [read more]

Hot bagels moved from New Jersey to the state of Arizona in 2001. If you like fresh bagels, then you'll love Hot Bagels. The shop makes its bagels by hand, not by machine. The bagels are crusty on the outside and chewy on the inside, the way real bagels were meant to be and all of them are hand rolled, boiled, and baked bagels daily. We serve breakfast and lunch selling 3000 everyday. It's quite a show to watch the large mound of dough being hand rolled and boiled. It smells great, too!
