Raymond and Teresa Bonillas opened the first Don Ruben's in 1972 and quickly stole the hearts of native and non-native Phoenicians alike. Flash to the summer of 2001, when Steve and Lené Bonillas re-opened Don Ruben's on 43rd Avenue & Cactus.
