******Long Story Short - We asked for extra spicy and received everything far less spicy and far less flavorful than ketchup. We also received under cooked potatoes, some burnt tasting foods and nobody asked how everything was.

More details-

We entered and all the window tables were reserved with leatherette menus so we picked an inside table. We were not given a leatherette menu listing alcoholic drinks and instead got a sheet of paper to choose from.

We ordered a variety of appetizers.
chicken 65 -tender but never had such a nearly unseasoned mild version
chili prawns - tender but also lacked flavors
bhutta (corn) - only taste sour citrus juice and a burnt taste

Then the entrees and naan came out.

Vindaloo Spicy with Chicken - Chicken tender but sauce lacked any heat (we asked for extra spicy) tasted mostly like tomato paste with turmeric and almost nothing else. Potatoes in this dish were hard and under cooked.

Chili Spicy Curry Fish - (also asked for extra spicy) was also served much milder than ketchup. had a little more flavors than the vindaloo but was unusually mild tasting.

Chili Onion Naan - was very tough and just tasted burnt.

We were only asked once how the food was and that was before we even tasted the appetizers.

2 stars everything could have been better.

The Samosa Choley gave us such high hopes for this place! The restaurant was empty at 6:30pm on a Friday night, but we dismissed it as perhaps they have a lot of takeaway business. Nope, that wasn't it.

Our Samosa Choley appetizer came to the table and although it was a bit cold, the flavors were outstanding. The sauce had a tangy tamarind flavor and from what I understand, based on overhearing the wait staff talk to the only other couple in the restaurant, the dish is vegan. Perfect crunch, tasty tender filling, and the garbanzo curry was a show-stopper. I'm not vegan, but dishes like this would have me willing to try it for awhile.

Sadly, that's where the excellence ended. The goat curry tasted fine - nothing special - but the curry texture was very "grainy" and while I know goat curry is served on the bones, all I received was a bowl of bones and fat. I had two pieces of meat that were partially edible in my entire dish.

The chili chicken was dry, flavorless, and overcooked. It wasn't even that spicy; probably because the waitress never asked what spice levels we wanted. It tasted like hot vinegar and Tabasco sauce. The rice was white, boring, flavorless, and had green peas in it for some reason. The naan was so burned on one side, I had to peel the good side from the charred side in order to eat it and not feel like I was licking an ashtray.

To top it off, hubby asked to order their signature drink, which was advertised on every table as a "must order" item; the Angry Indian....made with Angry Orchard Hard Cider. They ran out of Angry Orchard. What?

I don't know about you, but if I owned a restaurant, and I was pushing a signature drink with numerous ads on all my tables, and I knew that alcohol is where I stand to make the most margin for my business, I would take my ass to the grocery store and go buy more Angry Orchard. I wouldn't let the restaurant run out of its signature drink. And, if it was a supply problem, I would take the advertisements off of the tables! That was just one more disappointment in a poorly run establishment. I'm baffled at the high rating.

Who knows how they were able to nail that amazing Samosa appetizer. Someone's auntie must be making them at home and bringing them in.

It was a lazy weekday night, so we ventured out for some Indian food. This place was deserted (quite normal) on a weeknight. Ordered the Tandoori Paneer, Veg Pakoras, Malai Kofta, Paneer Karahi and some nan breads. The quantity was a bit on the lower side compared to the price. All dishes were pretty pricey, so could get some love in terms of taste and quantity. On the flip side, everything seemed to be freshly prepared and adequately spiced.
I will give this a 3.5star and definitely has some room for improvement.
Overall, definitely a backup option for Indian food.

I drove over 200 miles directly to Tandoori's. I was going to phoenix so there was NO way I was going to miss out on THE best Indian food in the Metro Phoenix area. The service is awesome. The decor is lovely (can you say selfie backdrops e'rywhere!) and there is plenty of parking. I highly recommend you check this place out. They do dine-in, takeout, Grubhub AND Doordash so no excuses.....
