Greek standards served in modest quarters with patio seating & a full bar with draft beer.
Schnitzel! Spaetzle! And potato pancakes, mushroom cream sauce, and applesauce. It's German night at Sunset Bistro and things couldn't be better. The first time I went for it a couple of months ago, they didn't serve applesauce and the spaetzle was waterlogged; however, this time the applesauce was there and the spaetzle was lightly pan finished in butter. And look at the size of the Jager Schnitzel! Amber Bock on tap added to the experience and you can dine in or out on the little patio (but since it is a small area with walls on 2 sides, if there are smokers out there your al fresco experience will be marred by stagnant smoke). Caution: German Night is only on Tuesdays, so plan ahead. It's also not well advertised so we had to ask for the special menu and they didn't have beef rolladin since server said they had too much left over the last time they made it--well geez, tell people it's German Night and hand them the menu so they'll know what's available! Put the info on the chalkboard and talk up this special night: it's something to be proud of!
It's a nice outdoor atmosphere by the golf course. Wine pours were good and the SW
Salad was pretty good the lettuce was fresh and crisp. The chicken was moist snd it was filling.
There was a tournament snd watching the men golfers was fun. When your in Sun City a clubhouse is where you should go to eat and drink.
I eat at a lot of restaurants in Az this one hands down is my favorite. Waitress was solo and performed exceptionally, food was incredible and staff was great. Loved it thanks
Good food at reasonable prices. Generous portions and gluten/dairy free options. I wished the waitress had worn a mask.
Food overall was just ok. There were 4 of us. Best dish was beer brats, warm potato salad was just ok. Jaeger schnitzel was not very good, mushroom gravy was horrible. Sauerbraten was edible but nothing to brag about. Service was very bad. Won't be back.
Very disappointing and unfriendly place. We were ignored on arrival(not busy). Finally seated ourselves, then had to wait for menus. Server asked us what we wanted to drink, but there was no menu, and she suggested we went to the bar to look. She got my order wrong, I wanted 1/2 Gyro Sandwich, she gave me full and charged full price. (I ate half). She never came back to check if we wanted another drink, or offered any water. We didn’t see her again and had to go inside to ask for the check. Again, they were not busy. It was 5pm on a Tuesday. They were too busy chatting to their local clientele and pandering to their needs. We felt unwelcome, and the food was average at best!
