Unpretentious Italian restaurant preparing familiar dishes in a traditional setting.
Really great food, great service, live guitarist, lovely wine selection! We've eaten here over the years with my father in law who lives in Surprise. We have now moved to Peoria and met him and some friends last week. They actually take reservations which is awesome! Hardly any restaurants here do!
I ordered eggplant and my husband the pork chop. Everything was terrific. The bruschetta bread was so soft and tasty. We all had wine and dessert. What an enjoyable evening with terrific service. And very well priced!
The only draw back is that it's in a run down strip mall but that probably helps keep the prices reasonable. We will go here for many years to come. Highly recommend.
This restaurant definitely knows CLASS. The only one who still uses real tablecloths and napkins. The only one whose staff is always willing to go the extra mile.
When we want to dress well, like people USE to dress when they went out for a lovely evening meal, we always go here.

Our friends frequent Portofino West and suggested that our group of seven have dinner. We had reservations and were seated promptly in a comfortable corner table. On Friday there was live entertainment by a Guitar player which provided the perfect background music. The veal was recommend and almost everyone ordered it.
Service was friendly and prompt. The Veal Piccata was pounded thin and perfectly cooked to melt in your mouth tenderness.
The Chicken Piccata was also ordered and was as great as the veal. The veal and chicken are served with a choice of a side of pasta or vegetables. Both were perfect to accompany the entrée.
We look forward to a return visit.
Portofino's is a step back in time and is a wonderful family run ristorante. It felt so familiar, we half expected Stanley Tucci to come out of the kitchen and greet us.
Portofino's is a white tablecloths place, which has a hushed tone to it, unless it Saturday night when the musician is there serenading the house. It's located just over the border from Del Webb's Sun City and it is easy to find.
We started with some wine with our salads. For our entrées, we ordered Chicken Parmesan with penne pasta, and Spaghetti with a meat sauce, along with sausages and meatballs. Both were very tasty.
For dessert, we went with the chocolate covered raspberry ice cream Tartufo and almond flavored Tartufo. It was a perfect way to end our evening.
Since Portofino's is family run, everything seems more cozy and intimate. Our bill ran us about forty dollars each before taxes and gratuities.
