Let's make this easy... You can either read my review or just go ahead and drive there, or call there and place your order.
In the meantime, while you're waiting for it, let me tell you how absolutely delicious Pork on a Fork is. I decided to sample a whole bunch of different things. So, I got a combination platter with brisket, pork, and chicken. I normally don't eat red meat, but when you were faced with the possibility of the best, you give it a try. And I was not disappointed. The meats were all moist and delicious. The barbecue sauces were all really really good and complemented the meats. And then there were the sides. I'll absolutely love love loved the sides. I got a little bit of everything: creamy mac & cheese, classic homemade coleslaw, to die for potato salad, mashed potatoes with the most delicious gravy, and green beans that are soft and salty.... in the best way. I attached a sampler plate I made myself. All was yummy and there is food for days! Woohoo!
But I didn't just love the food. Every single person when I went in there to pick up my order was so friendly and helpful and caring. That really does make a difference. In this time when we truly need to support local businesses as much as possible, this is one that will not disappoint!
I heard a rumor that they're doing smoked turkey for Thanksgiving. Maybe it's time to let somebody else do the cooking! :-)
Owed my buddy a late bday dinner and since he was craving BBQ, I came by Pork on a Fork to pickup some grub.
I ordered a Beef Brisket Bowl for myself with Mac & cheese, rice/gravy, green beans, and pickles. In addition, I also ordered extra sides for a quick lunch tomorrow. My buddy wanted a variety, so I ordered him The Deluxe, which came with 3 meats (pork, chicken, and brisket), and two sides (Mac & cheese and green beans).
My bowl was pretty good, but I wasn't blown away by the brisket. Seemed a little too well done for my preference (hence the 4-star rating), however the bowl was still really tasty and filling. Definitely couldn't finish it all in one sitting.
My buddy loved his food but also has the same sentiment about the brisket. Again, this isn't a show-stopper for either of us. Keep in mind, I did roll thru close to closing time. So I'm open to giving the brisket another shot!
Regardless, the staff was super helpful with the menu options and suggestions. I really enjoyed their positive energy and laughs. Made the whole experience that much better.
Like I said, I plan on coming back again. I'm hoping I caught the brisket on an "off day"... because there's nothing better than juicy brisket!!Shoutout to the fun employees!
AZ's BEST BBQ!?!?
If you are a fan of Little Miss BBQ, then you might be a slightly bigger fan of Pork On A Fork. Side by side picking the better meats it hard but when weighing in the sides and style options, Pork On A Fork might have the upper hand.Every time I have gone it has been a fast experience- in and out in five minutes. The staff has been very friendly and helpful making recommendations. One of my favorites was trying the gravy on the herb rice. I have tried the brisket, pulled chicken and pork. I was impressed by all of them. For the sides I have tried the (favorites in order) herb rice, cornbread, coleslaw, baked beans, side salad and potato salad. All are pretty tasty. Then for the sauces the mustard based is my favorite followed by smokey tangy, sweet and spicy. The spicy to me is not spicy at all.
It is hard to say who has the best bbq in the valley but I think this place pulled it off. When considering the speed, service and food, Pork on a Fork is the best in AZ. I have been here three times within two weeks and plan on coming back often. Great job!! Overall, you have to try this place out for BBQ in AZ.
My sexy bearded lover and I tried Pork on a Fork for the first time the other day. Everything we ordered was stellar, but to me, the baby back ribs were so extra I couldn't even stand myself. Picked up the food, went home and got settled. When we opened the tinfoil, we could hear trumpets playing. It was like the sun came out just for this special moment. The ribs were beautiful, steamy and exactly what you pictured matching that heavenly smell on the ride home. I moved the ribs a bit and the meat started falling off the bone, HELLO TENDER! Sometimes when you get food this good you just want to hover over it and call it your precious. Needless to say the baby back ribs were not only life changing, but they gave me that reminiscent feeling of being home as a child and of the family cook outs we use to have. Well done done Pork on a Fork, well done.
