Ok, we love donuts. There's just something about that big pillowy soft sweet dough lol it's been a few years since I've had Lamar's but that donut craving hit and they were open and close by.
I do like they have a drive thru if you know what you want. I eat with my eyes and always opt to walk in to see what they have. We got a half dozen and some donut holes. The cake donuts were not dry like most places and had a delicious flavor. The raised donuts had plenty of icing and a softness you find in a good quality donut. The donut holes are dangerous because it's so easy to pop in your mouth and before you know it the whole dozen is down the hole lol.
I'll remember Lamar's next time we get a good donut craving. I just wish they were open a bit later but it's probably good they are not because I would be visiting more often than I should be!

Almost as good as Shipley's (if you're from Texas you know) and that is a compliment of the highest magnitude! That said, they do offer some amazing flavors I haven't seen elsewhere, absolute perfection and delicious. Not your run of the mill doughnut shop for sure!
Now that I've written this review, it's time to go back and get more doughnuts!
I am 5 months into a 14 month cross country road trip, and donut shops across America are one of our guilty pleasures. This is one of the best that we have eaten at so far--the donuts are not overly sweet, and the sprinkles are generous. I would have liked to try more flavors, but the donuts are huge!
