Louisiana style BBQ like no other. Blend of seasoning that will knock yourself socks off!
Wasn't impressed and won't be back. I went in, based on the good reviews, hoping it would be a great hole in the wall find. It was not. Contrary to other reviews, the mac and cheese was very over seasoned and too salty. Cole Slaw wasn't anything to write home about and neither was the pulled pork.
The part that I found inexcusable was that they were blaring awful music through Bluetooth that kept coming in and out and I could barely hear the person in front of me, which was probably the worst part of my experience here. If you're going to play music, find something non-offensive and play it at a mild sound level- especially for an 11:30 lunch.
I was helping my sister with her yard this day. We were on our way to dump the yard waste. We were driving down Glendale and happen to see a huge smoker with smoke coming out. I smelled the food and saw the sign for this place. We decided to come back after our yard work.
We found a parking spot and walked for about a minute to this place. The place smelled so good. The tables and trim looked really cool too.
I have eaten at plenty of BBQ places so I have a idea what most will have. I ordered the hot link, pulled pork, beans and mac & chesse. I will say the hot link was excellent. The pulled pork with their sauce was really good. The sauce was excellent too. The smoked beans were great too. They had a good flavour with a bit of kick too. The mac and cheese was different. It was not like what I have had before. The put some crunchy stuff on it. It was really excellent too. I sampled a piece of the brisket my brother had and it was great. I can not wait to comeback when I am in the area.
People remember there are different styles off BBQ. We have numerous styles here now. Just because you have a meat here does not mean it will be the same at another place. The styles are what make it great. Keep a open mind.
I am happy to see the boom of BBQ here now. We have great places like this one plus others too. You can see my reviews and check out others. I do not have a favourite because they are all different and great in their own way.
JJ's Louisiana BBQ is usually very good. We only get a treat once a month so we look forward to having prepared food.
My husband has no teeth and when I ordered previously, he could eat JJ's ribs without any teeth.
This time though, you could tell these ribs weren't cooked in the last 24 hours. I put them in my pressure cooker, added my sauce. and the taste was worse, the meat was OLD. We wasted $30.00 for nothing.
It seems the restaurant businesses don't give a darn about their customers anymore so no more ordering out for us. I will make my own special treats from now on.
