Ground Control
The crown jewel of the West Side of Phoenix! Ground control has always been on my radar because of its connection to Arizona's craft beer scene but what really got me out here was the Detroit style pizza! The pizza itself was as amazing as it looks- crunchy burnt crust ends, savory sauce and some seriously thick crust.

Score- 7.5The HOT chicken- fire. All I can say is fire. You like hot chicken? This is it. Sweat under the eyes type of hot. I absolutely loved it.
Peanut butter stout cheesecake was some of the best cheesecake I've ever had and if you want some you gotta go now as it's a specialty item- however, the complexity of this dessert tells me everything I need to know about the skill level of their kitchen staff. I doubt they strike out.. ever.
All of the food I tried was very good and definitely worth the drive for anyone who lives in any part of the valley. What stood out to me the most is the level of hospitality and kindness of the staff. Everyone was so nice and you can tell they truly love what they do and who they work for.
Deep dish pizza with pepperoni, Nashville hot chicken strips, a burger and for appetizers we ordered the pretzels with beer cheese (amazing beer cheese!)
And the cheese curds. All of our food was great! My kids and I have been coming to ground control since it first opened and it has never disappointed. I am glad to have such a quaint local spot with great food to enjoy. Also on the plus side, my good ol' friend Tammy is there Friday nights and I love seeing her smiling face!
Went in for the first time a few days ago for dinner. Had great service and the food was awesome. So were the beers. We were a little apprehensive because of some of the reviews about not very attentive service and we also had a group of 7 people. Needless to say the only thing that was missed was a side salad my wife ordered but the food was so good she didn't even need it. It was even a trivia nite and lots of people there and we had no problems ordering drinks or anything. Will definitely go back
