informal, unassuming strip mall outpost dishing up homestyle Cuban fare & baked goods.
I don't know how I forgot to review this wonderful restaurant. I looked forward to good Cuban food and I got it. I had the steak&onions which came with a salad and Moro (Black rice and beans). Delicious. We also had the grilled fish with garlic sauce which came with same accompaniments. As takeout I ordered the stuff potatoes. Literally a ball of mashed potatoes stuffed with meat and fried. Delish.
This is the kind of place u want to come to day in and day
Best Cubano sandwich in the Valley, hands down. One of these days I'll try more from their menu but until then?
The customer service here does not fail! This is the best part of coming to this small family owned restaurant! Come super early in the day for pasteles and any other pastry! They sellout quick and from what I understand, one baker pumps out everything they offer.
Unfortunately Phoenix has very few Cuban Food options. I am grateful for having Cuban Foods Bakery & Restaurant! One can say I've had better food at.... My reply, not in Phoenix! CFB&R will suffice for most who have not grown up eating Cuban Food or not able to travel to a more dense Cuban population. Food is very subjective, but I will tell you growing up with a Cuban parent. The taste is there! The ambience is very humble, but the customer service is the rockstar here!!!
If you stumbled upon this review and never experience Cuban Food. Give this place a shot and keep them in business as long as they choose to be around! They greet you like family and they will help you select something you have never experienced. You can have the old faithful Cuban Sandwich if you want to dip your toe in uncharted waters!
Pro tip, experience a meal during spring training. You may bump into a prospect or full blown MLB star.
