History
Established in 2004.
China Grill has been open since October 2004. It is owned and operated by Ann. She works in the front managing our team of waitresses. The kitchen is headed by Chef Andy who has spent the first ten years of his career as an apprentice learning the fine intricacies of Chinese cuisine. Building on those he now creates mouthwatering dishes with flavors that can satisfy the most critical palate.
They are really nice. Good service. Sauces veggies rice are great. BUT WHERE IS THE CHICKEN? MY KUNG PAO chicken had hardly any chicken. And the few pieces there were, had lots of fat - poor quality chicken. Been going there for 10 or 15 years. And over last 4 years- very disappointed. Cant you afford to include protein? And quality protein? So disappointing. Spent $27 for 2 meals. And hardly any chicken. Want to frequent you - you are blocks away. But we want meat with our food.
Oh and this isn't first experience with lacking chicken here. Been like the last 5 times there. Even had breaded chicken where it was all breading and no chicken. We like chicken with our chinese food. And unfortunately China Grill is apparently anti chicken. Such a shame
Local spot. Typical mom and pop Chinese restaurant. There is something that we found here - all their recipes are a notch above their local competitors. Is it fresher vegetables? More food prep care? Williningness to take more time? We have not figured it out, but we like it. Everything we have tried we have been pleasantly impressed by.
Note this is not SF, Toronto, NYC, or Chicago high end chinese cuisine, but for my local neighborhood joint, China Grill is a step above the rest
China Grill is a tasty treat.
We've been here several times now and came away impressed with both the food and family who owns the restaurant. They are very friendly and go out of their way to make your visit memorable.
A few musts when you come here: Potstickers, Spicy Won-Tons, all of the Chicken dishes (Kung Pao, General Tso, Orange Chicken), and their Soups. We also like their Plum Wine.
Expect to pay $15 to $25 each, depending on how ravished you are for some yum Chinese comfort food.
Stopped after a fun day of family time. Found on YELP and very glad. Cozy atmosphere (read small), happily only one table when we arrived.
There are tables and half booths. I sat in a half booth which was very comfortable. The tables move so access to the booth was easy, whew!
Although it was lunch, our very nice server advised the dinner menu was available. We decided on the lunch dishes.
I had the Crazy Spicy chicken. It was really good, but salty. It was spicy as its name indicated. Vegetables were crunchy, with tender pieces of chicken. I'd love to order this again but it was too salty for my taste.
One person ordered the Chicken Lo Mein and loved it. Another ordered the S&S Chicken and highly recommended it. We also ordered Pork Fried Rice which was so amazing it completely saved the day! Full of big pieces of BBQ pork, not the small pieces I'm used to. It was well seasoned, not salty, not greasy. Perfect.
Speaking of perfect: if you're a Hot & Spicy soup lover, you need to get over here quickly because this soup is the King of soups. The next time I'm n this area i will be sure to pick up Hot and Sour soup as well as the Pork Fried rice.
All and all, lunch portions seem small, but were filling. No one left hungry. As I mentioned, our server was very attentive to us and I appreciate her helping us choose our selections. I'll definitely be back!
