It took me a week to decide if i should post this and today, I decided to. This spot was recommended by one of my coworkers a year ago as it was closer to me than driving to mesa. I order my lechon kawali, pancit and some treats from here. I always call for a pick up and advise of the time that I will be picking it up so they are aware.
My sister and her boyfriend were visiting from Texas and wanted some Filipino food when we arrived from our road trip from Colorado. I called to place my usual order but this time doubled. As you can see from the photo, their closing time for Sunday is 7pm. While I was placing the order the man I was speaking with advised they did not have lechon so I asked what else I could get and he sounded irritated when I was asking for prices. I finally found something to order since the lechon was not available. I called them at 4:15pm and advised I would be picking up at 5:45pm and he said I would need to pick it up sooner. I advised I wouldn't be able to and his response was very I appropriate. He stated "I know you live just 10 minutes away, why can't you pick it up sooner?" I then said I was not home and he asks "well may I ask where you are?" Of course at that point it was even more inappropriate so I asked for him to just go ahead and cancel the order as I was not comfortable with him asking for my location and assuming I can just drop what I was doing to pick up food that was at his convenience. While I was asking him to cancel the order he kept talking over me and then eventually hung up on me. I wanted a few minutes to see if he would call back to confirm cancellation and he did not so I called back. I asked politely "please confirm that the order was cancelled as you hung up on me when I was requesting this" and he cut me off and stated "excuse me, I am the owner here and I can do what I want" to which I stated "please cancel the order, thank you, goodbye." And I disconnected the call.
If you are the owner, you should have more class and care for your loyal customers. I was driving home from Colorado. About a half hour later he texted my phone which was even more unacceptable (they use a cell phone for their restaurant) to try to get me to still place an order. I did not respond and I will NEVER recommend that place to anyone and I will NEVER go back. I will also let all my friends know not to go there anymore.
I was so disappointed. However, I called Wholly Grill in Mesa and placed an order and the lady stated they were closing so I apologized and said thanks but the lady stated "what would you like, we can try to make it quickly." I was happily surprised and I did say I would not get there for another 45 or so minutes and she said that is ok and she appreciated the business. Now THAT is customer service!!
Please go to Nanay's or Wholly Grill for Filipino food! That's better customer service and also still delicious food. I would rather drive far than settle for mediocre service.
This place is very nostalgic. They offer both food and pastries at this location. The food reminisce of my mothers cooking growing up. The food was cooked fresh and seasoned well. The pastries are delicious, a little bit pricey but worth it. If you are Filipino or been craving Filipino foods, it's a must

I found this place on Yelp and it's close to where I'm working at the moment. It's Lent so I'm looking for a fish dish for lunch. I wanted the sweet and sour tilapia but they were out so the gentleman at the front suggested Daing na Bangus. I was hesitant to try it but glad I did. It was fried to perfect. So crispy that I you can basically eat it all with skin and gills. There is no bone to fight to get the flesh. The dipping sauce is like a vinegar base, so good. The meal came with steam rice and pancit. I also got halo halo and two mini ube cheesecake to go. The Halo halo didn't hit the spot but oh my oh my, the Ube cheesecake was so moist and creamy and ridiculously yummy. The color from the Ube is so pretty. There are many other dessert I would like to try next time. They only accept cash or debit but the cashier was nice enough to accept my c/c since I don't do debit and low in cash. Very friendly staffs.
