I have long been a fan of the food at Cafe Zupas, however I do get frustrated with the way the line is set up. I typically like to get their soup and sandwich combo, however, once the soup stays uncovered while you are in line, it is lukewarm at best by the time you sit down at a table. I've decided it is better to order everything as takeout. That way, the soup is covered all the way through the line and you can pop it into the microwave at home if needed. Live and learn!
That said, the quality of food at Cafe Zupas is very good. One thing I also need to remember is to ask them to leave the bacon off of the grilled avocado crab sandwich since I don't eat bacon. What I love is the freeroll and chocolate-covered strawberry that you get with your meal. Also, the staff is fantastic! Very friendly and polite.
My fiancé and I love this place! Our go-tos are the tomato basil soup, vegetarian sandwich, and chipotle salad with tofu instead of meat. The extra roll and chocolate strawberry are great additions. We come here at least once a month!
This was the worst experience I've had at Zupas. Been coming to several Zupas locations for a few years now and have never experienced this kind of ridiculousness. I ordered at 1:15 a CUP of Soup. Literally. Nothing else. I wasn't able to get my food in hand until 1:51. I was in the cafe waiting at 1:28. The order was estimated pick at at 1:30. It took them a total of 36 mins to get soup in a bowl and call my name.
The worst part was that I waited patiently for 20ish minutes until I saw them slide tickets aside to work on other orders. Then the three women at the front were incredibly rude to me telling me they had many orders. I would suggest changing your estimated wait time algorithm during lunch. it's not the wait that kissed me off, it's the attitude of the workers after I already waited for 20 minutes, asked nicely and got a face full of attitude. I'm aware you are busy, are you aware I've been waiting 20 mins past the wait time? Cool, thanks.
On my 2nd visit, I saw cool manager Mike again. The place was super clean and well organized. I also like there's a large seating area. On this visit, I decided on the Mediterranean salad, Italian deli sandwich and lobster roasted pepper soup. The soup was the best lobster soup I ever had. I was really impressed and had to have seconds!
The salad was great with kalamata olives, eggs and super fresh, healthy spinach leaves.
On top of all that deliciousness, I had their chocolate mousse cake, choc strawberries and there were great drinks.
Cafe Zupas ranks in my top ten all-time fast-casual restaurants for healthy food and cuisine variety offering greek, Asian and American classics.
The service is great and fast.
Highly recommended and was even better than my first visit.
