I really liked this place! A girlfriend of mine invited me out for a quick bite to eat and though I admit, they don't have many options apart from salads for vegetarians on their menu, they do at least have those.

I found myself saying, "if they had one veggie burger that they did well, they'd likely expand their clientele".

It was a cozy bar, just like I like them. Not in the sense of space because it's actually a pretty decent size, but the vibe, the vibe felt cozy. The staff was attentive and kept my water full, even though I wasn't drinking which I appreciated.

The place is covered in signage decor that is pretty rad. The ladies bathroom made me want to snap pics of all the awesome signs in there and had me curious as to whether the men's was just as fun.

So, onto the food. I was not on my vegetarianish kick because well, I wanted to give their Mexican shrimp cocktail a go. It was pretty good. Didn't have quite as much spice to it as I like but the flavor was there and I enjoyed it thoroughly. They also had carne asada tacos on special that day (these are not on their regular menu) but they were BOMB! Bomb is an understatement actually, because they pack a ton of heat. I was surprised actually and whatever the green sauce was on them, should never change. 3 street size tacos with a side of rice and beans, which were also tasty.

If I lived closer I could see this being a spot I would frequent often. They're also following rules for the current happenings, sanitize between customers, masks on, the whole deal.

Good job Cactus Tavern and I dig your cutsie lights.

Found out about this place on Google. It had great reviews and the pictures looked inviting. Went to watch NFL on a Sunday AM and liked it from the get go! The game had started but we still got a great table, with TV's everywhere. Got much busier after noon. Fun crowd, not overly obnoxious. Food was great! Lots of options from traditional pub favorites to house specialties. My carne asada tacos were cooked and served to perfection. My friends fried fish & chips were excellent as well. She even brought her two young nephews along and it felt totally comfortable. This place definitely earns its rating!

First time here, shared a basket of shrimp and Tommy Style Wings. The wings were grilled, double coated and deep fried. Medium sauce had plenty of heat. Jen was our server, excellent service. Nice local watering hole. Wings were the best.

I never have anything bad to dat about any dive bar, nevertheless, this place has the most arrogant & disrespectful bartenders their is. Not only do they speak and conduct themselves in a rudely fashions they feel that because there are behind the bar they can treat there customers like s*^% and as they please simply because there so called in control. Never to recommend!!!!

This place has become my husband and I's go-to spot because it is within walking distance of our house. The drinks are super cheap and the service is great.

The food is amazing. I wings are crazy crispy and sauced perfectly. The shrimp basket is fantastic, battered and fried to perfection plus it comes with homemade shrimp cocktail sauce. My husband swears the French dip is better then Houston's. The onion strings are to die for as well, kind of like a better version of a blooming onion.

I can't wait to try the fish and chips in the winter!

After graduation ceremonies for my daughter at Grand Canyon University on the 27th. It was getting late and we were pretty hungry. We decided to stop at Cactus Tavern and finish watching my Cowboys beat the Eagles. The bar area was nothing to look at but they had enough TVS to enjoy the game. My daughter says this is her go to place when she does not want to make herself up and just enjoy a beer. I ordered a LIT and it was prepared just right with a little sweetness in flavor. My wife ordered the Margarita which for her was kind of strong but very good. My daughter had her usual dark beer. We started with chips and salsa and Jalapeno poppers. The jalapeno poppers were oh so hot but cheesy and good, The salsa had a little bite and was very good, just a little strong for the wife and daughter. I ordered a combo of fish and shrimp platter w/fries. The battered fried fish was very good I was pleasantly surprised The battered fried shrimp were very big like a jumbo size and very tasty. After the poppers and chips and salsa my wife was not very hungry so she just had a jumbo shrimp off of my plate. Our daughter ordered a hamburger and fries which she enjoyed very much. Like I said the place was nothing to look at but the servers were very friendly and on the spot. The food was better than most restaurants that I have been to and paid twice as much.

First time there and I had their special for that evening. It was Penne Pasta with meat sauce and it was delicious. I also ordered an appetizer too, green chili queso with chips. Reasonable price and the waitress/bartender was really nice. The place was very clean and everyone was friendly. I didn't take a photo but I wish I had. Will certainly be going again.
