Went with family that I'm visiting and was so happy they were able to accommodate party of 8 for dine in. They do require masks once you enter. All staff had masks on as well. They provide hand sanitizer at the front.
Food was good. Decent price. Staff was accommodating with substitutions. The manager stopped by to make sure everything was okay. Overall had a great experience. I would go to again.
The only downside which didn't really bother me was the 7" pizza took 15 mins to come out after all if our food. But luckily my kid wasn't that hungry and ended up eating some of my steak.
Bring a jacket if you tend to get cold. They had the AC going and their ceiling fans.
Two guys, literally driving from Ajo after hiking all day long. We keep driving north, it's after 7:00 p.m., getting close to Gila Bend. As we drive through the bend, we contemplate eating there or to keep heading north towards the Valley of the Sun for dinner. We end up heading north.
As we get closer, I find a brewery just off the freeway in Goodyear. We're pretty hungry now and it's after 8:00. We get there and the wait is over half hour. So we end up at Augie's just down the way. Pretty glad we did too!
Definitely a cute place when you walk inside! It's a smaller sports bar but it was lively and they were able to see us right away. We had the best waitress! Her name was Tallyn and she was perfect. She was always checking on us and making sure that we were happy. Friend and I both had the mushroom burger. I guess they actually called the shroom burger.
Anyway, burger was pretty good. Waffle fries were pretty cold though. She asked me if everything was okay but I didn't have the heart to tell her no. I was able to finish the cold waffle fries with very watery ranch dressing. Didn't really bother with the vegetables at first but decided to eat them later to get some fiber. Unfortunately the onions must have been soaking in a brine because they were pretty acidic. Not very fresh.
So the place has a great atmosphere and the service is great. But the food is just okay. I actually wanted to get the nachos but they came with melted cheese sauce and no thanks. Just not my kind of nachos. I was tempted to try the steak but I figured they had a lot of sandwiches and burgers on their menu so I went there instead. It worked out mostly well in the end
We came to Augie's after trying to go to two other places. One placed closed early and the other had a 50 min wait. We were seated right away, and the place was very busy! The restaurant had TV's everywhere. The reason we wanted to eat out, was because we have been moving, and I needed a drink and I didn't want to cook. Both my husband and I ordered the patty-melt. My BIL ordered the buffalo chicken sliders. I ordered an old fashioned, but it was not so good. Our server Justine was funny and very personable . She asked me to make sure my old fashioned was ok. I didn't like it, and she offered to let me get another drink. I assume, beer is the drink if choice around here. So if you want a bougie drink like I did, you're best off just ordering beer. You could tell the restaurant had a-lot of regulars, that all of the servers knew. I really like that. As far as patty-melts go, they were really good. I'm a patty-melt snob, so if you are craving some rye bread with onions and a burger patty, come here!
