Welcome to Amigos Authentic Mexican Grill & Bar
Looking for a new favorite Mexican spot? Amigos Authentic Mexican Grill & Bar is your new favorite spot in Surprise, AZ. Serving classic dishes like tacos and enchiladas, our family-friendly restaurant is bound to have something delicious for you and your family to enjoy.
Most Mexican restaurants in Surprise have a bad ratings so I was skeptical at first about this.
When we entered, the decor made it feel almost like an outdoor restaurant in Mexico. So it lightened us up a little. But the food. The food is what sold us.
I am Mexican and the food tasted like my mom had made it when we were young.
Although we did not try everything, I would suggest you stay away from all the items that are generic. Ex. Nachos, taco salads, etc.
Pros:
-Authentic tasting Mexican food
-Warm inviting decor
-Fast service
-Sunday all you can eat brunch barCons:
-Sadly understaffed. Not their issue I'm sure but our waitress was running around dealing with us and the brunch side. Anyone who is extremely picky will see this as a downside. Try to be reasonable. All in all, I'd highly recommend it. If you are looking for great Mexican food. Can't go wrong with the Molcajete. Making me want to go today again as I write this.
Wanted Mexican food. Amigos was not too far from where we were so gave it a shot. Pleasant interior. The chips and salsa kept coming, though I found the salsa to be a bit bland. The portions were quite large for the prices. I got a 3 item combo and it was a lot of food. Pretty tasty too... except for the taco shells. They were freshly fried but they were not seasoned at all, so again, pretty bland. The taco itself though was STUFFED with meat, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. It just would've been nice if the shell had some flavor. Just some salt as it came out of the fryer would've helped a lot. The Chili Colorado was decent... not bad, but not the best Chili Colorado I've ever had either. But again, there was a lot of it... which was nice.
They have a Sunday buffet brunch that I'm gonna give a shot. I know I only gave this 3 stars, but I will update when I go to the brunch buffet if the food is a bit better seasoned telling me that my first visit was just an off day. I hope I can improve the score.
Just moved to the area a few months back and this place was recommended by others at my work. I drove by a few times as the outside looked like a quick casual dining experience and I was more in the mood for a full-service experience, well I am glad I finally took the plunge as this is actually a full-service dining restaurant. Hidden by being inside the strip around the movie theater.
The pricing is decent and the food was good. Our service has been hit and misses regarding cheerfulness and attentiveness, but overall I enjoyed their food and will be back.
I have tried a couple of different meals so far and recommend their street-style tacos.
My wife has got the ceviche (didn't like it) and their burrito (did like it)
